Al-Hilal vs Al Okhdood

Saudi Pro League

Al-Hilal seeks to maintain their remarkable form in the Saudi Pro League as they prepare to host Al Okhdood at Kingdom Arena on Tuesday evening.

The hosts have surged ahead in the league standings, currently holding a commanding 12-point lead at the top, while their opponents hover just two points above the relegation zone.

Securing a thrilling 4-3 win over Al Shabab on Saturday, Al-Hilal inches closer to reclaiming the Saudi Pro League title, needing only five more victories to regain the trophy they lost to Al Ittihad last season.

Unbeaten in 25 league matches, Al-Hilal boasts an impressive record of 23 wins and two draws, accumulating a total of 71 points.

In March, Al-Hilal made history by breaking the world record for the most consecutive wins (27), extending their streak to 28 victories by defeating Al Ittihad in the AFC Champions League quarter-final. Following wins against Damac and Al Shabab, they now boast a staggering 30-match winning run.

Under the leadership of Jorge Jesus, the team has dominated the league this season, leading in both goals scored (76) and fewest goals conceded (16). They are also the sole top-flight team averaging less than a goal conceded per 90 minutes.

Returning home for their next match, Al-Hilal boasts an impressive record of 12 wins and one draw in 13 league matches, scoring 37 goals while conceding just six. Their only draw came in the season opener against Al Fayha back in August.

This will mark their second encounter against Al Okhdood, with their first meeting earlier this season resulting in a 3-0 victory for Al-Hilal. Meanwhile, Al Okhdood, newly promoted, enters gameweek 26 just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Despite a promising start following Martin Sevela's appointment in November, Al Okhdood has struggled, managing only one win in six matches since the league resumed in February, with no wins in their last five matches.

Their recent 3-1 defeat to Al-Raed extinguished hopes of a comeback after a comeback draw against Al Khaleej. With nine games remaining, Sevela will be eager for his team to improve their away performances, having secured only nine points from a possible 36 on the road.

Al-Hilal will be without Neymar, who has been sidelined for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament tear, while Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has scored 22 goals this season, is expected to lead the line.

For Al Okhdood, Real Betis loanee Alex Collado, who has scored two goals in the last three matches, is likely to feature, along with Sebastian Pedroza and Eid Al-Muwallad in midfield.
